BUTCHERY APPRENTICESHIP AT NEWLYNS NVQ LEVEL 2

IN BUTCHERY

Our butcher’s workforce is a team to be proud of, with everyone working with the same enthusiasm and care.  We want to add to the team and are looking for an Apprentice Butcher to learn this traditional craft and become the future of the industry.

Our butcher apprentice will learn all aspects of butchery.  This will cover the day to day workings of the area, learning where our meat comes from, how it is farmed, knife safety, identifying carcass muscles and animal structure and the basics of seam butchery.  Our apprenticeship is for two years and after that you will be a Level 2 butcher.

Being a butcher is a hands on and sometimes physically demanding role.  To become an apprentice with Newlyns, you will need to demonstrate that you are enthusiastic, committed to work and reliable.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a traditional craft and really become part of a great team.

Please apply to Abby Janaway, abby@newlyns.com with a CV and covering letter explaining why you would like an apprenticeship with Newlyns.
