Newlyns Cookery School is hosting a very special event, as it plays host to the Executive chef Khun Sompong from the Blue Elephant. One of the top Thai restaurants in the world the Blue Elephant is internationally renowned for its authenticity and consistently high standards of quality cuisine. Khun Sompong will give you the chance to learn first hand the secrets of Thai food, explaining how the ingredients and techniques combine to produce truly fabulous and authentic Thai dishes. Whether you are a novice cook or simply wish to broaden your existing culinary skills these hands on cookery courses will be ideal for you.
Khun Somping joined London's Blue Elephant after assisting in the launch of the Blue Elephant Cooking School in Bangkok. After graduating from the prestigious Catering College in Cholburi in Thailand he has worked his way around the most prestigious hotel and restaurant kitchens in Chiang Mai, Phuket, Chiang Rai, Myanmar, Nakonpathom, Bangkok, and Laos. This invaluable international experience has been put to full use at the Blue Elephant in London where he maintains and develops the vast and hectic kitchen, which, at times is called to cater for over 500 covers on a single night.
At Newlyns Cookery School, we want to show you how to get the best out of food and we provide cookery courses for anyone wanting to learn the basics, through to preparing impressive specialist menus. We offer hands-on courses for up to 12 people or demonstration courses for up to 20 and all of the courses are designed to be fun and interesting.
Our Chefs will inspire you to cook with imagination, passion and enjoyment. Whether a complete novice in the kitchen or wanting advanced training, they will guide you through fundamental techniques and at the end of the course you can relax in our dining area and enjoy your finished creations.
