Beef Steak with Stilton
Sauce
Beef and Stilton, the perfect combination - a recipe using
one of England's finest cheeses. Serves: 2
Suitable Cuts: Sirloin, rump, fillet
Cooking Time Detail: Sirloin or rump 2cm (¾")
Rare - 5 minutes in total /
Medium - 8 minutes in total /
Well Done - 12 minutes in total
(fillet steaks are approximately 1cm (½") thicker so
will need an extra 1-2 minutes cooking time each side).
Ingredients
2 lean beef steaks
15ml (1tbsp) oil
½ red onion (thinly sliced)
50g (2oz) Stilton cheese
30ml (2tbsp) Soft cream cheese
15ml (1tbsp) semi-skimmed milk
5ml (1tsp) English mustard
Method
Heat the oil in a pan and cook the lean, beef steaks according
to cooking time details above along with the red onion. Once
cooked, remove from the pan and keep warm.
Add the Stilton cheese, soft cream
cheese, semi-skimmed milk and English mustard to the pan.
Heat gently for 1 minute.
Serving Suggestion
Serve the sauce poured over the steaks with the red onion, new
potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
NB:
* Always preheat the grill or pan
